Every year, Liverpool holds the largest international music, digital and film festival that’s organized in the UK. Sound City will take place on May 5-6, 2018 but tickets are already on sale since September 29th, 2017. If you hurry, you will catch the early bird prices: £55.00 for the whole weekend. Wait and you’ll pay more for the same ticket. The super early bird tickets that cost as little as £35.00 are already sold out.
The list of curators is out
The performances are hand picked by a panel of acclaimed curators from the inside and outside of Britain. The names of the bands are not known yet, but they released the full list of curators. Names like 303, Abandon Silence, Alcopop, and Andy Votel are some of the most important organizations that will pick the final list of performers. Their purpose is to bring the very best breakthrough acts from across the UK and beyond.

Anyone is welcome to apply to perform at the 11th edition of Sound City, the best metropolitan festival of emerging talents in the UK. There’s a team that reviews every application to find the the best new music for the upcoming event. You don’t have to pay anything to have your application reviewed, so there’s no excuse for sitting this one out. You can submit your application until Friday January 19th at midnight.
The 2017 edition
Are you curious about who performed in Sound City 2017? Well, we can tell you that artists like Ed Sheeran, Dan Croll, Catfish and Bottlemen played in the past. Last year, the biggest names were The Kooks, The cribs, Metronomy, The Human League and The Kills. The festival took place on a 3-day period from Thursday May25th to Saturday May 27th and brought thousands of people in the heart of Liverpool to listen young talented artists sing.
In 2017, they had a volunteering program for those who wanted to help out while gaining experience in the music and digital industries. The volunteer call was announced quite close to the event, considering the deadline for applications was Friday May 12th. So, it’s safe to assume you won’t be hearing anything about volunteer applications until the summer.
